Meet the Team

  • Paul Jarvie, Manager of Occupational Health and Safety for EMA is also the National Manager for the NZ Institute of Safety Management (NZISM). He was formerly a Physiotherapist working in both public and private sectors. He has researched and delivered a wide range of products and services for EMA members. He is constantly being used by Government agencies in their planning and implementation of national strategic plans and programmes in the occupational health and safety areas as well as ACC.
  • John Jury has nearly 30 years experience in the wider field of environmental health and has been directly involved in health and safety management for over 15 years. John established IPMS (Injury Prevention and Management Services Ltd) with David Stanley in 2002, as a consultancy to assist employers manage their health and safety responsibilities, including advising on case management strategies to return injured employees to work. He also advises on on implementing wellness or similar programmes.
  • Toni has been involved with Health and Safety for many years and worked across a range of industry sectors including, electrical, retail, construction, outdoor education, automotive, manufacturing, education, health and social services. She holds tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management, Health & Safety Management and Adult Education. Toni has recently been appointed as Health & Safety Consultant for the EMA in Bay of Plenty region and is based in Tauranga.
  • Geoff has more than 40 years’ experience in handling chemicals in all situations including laboratories and manufacturing plants. He is very experienced in establishing environmental, quality, and health & safety (EQHS) management systems to comply with ISO9001, ISO14001 and AS/NZS4801 standards.
