Employers and Manufacturers Association (EMA) Northern - Tauranga Small Business Employment Relations Law Update

Tauranga Small Business Employment Relations Law Update

Exploring new obligations and the tough staff issues
The Employers and Manufacturers Association (EMA) has partnered with Small Business Tauranga to offer a free, comprehensive review of recently introduced employment law.

EMA in-house experts Matt Dearing, Managing Solicitor of EMA Legal, and Paul Jarvie, Manager of Employment Relations and Safety, will lead you through recent legislative changes and their implications for your business. You have significant new obligations as an employer and you will find out how to incorporate them in your operations.

There are three big changes in employment law in 2019:

  • Employment Relations Amendment Act 2018
  • Domestic Violence – Victims Protection Act 2018
  • Guidelines for responding to harassment and bullying.

You will end up with more clarity on these law changes and how you can manage your people and protect your business.

The EMA has developed this seminar especially to help small businesses in Tauranga understand the changes happening in employment relations.

The EMA is the largest business membership organisation in New Zealand and covers the region from Taupo to the Far North. It has significant employment advice, legal, training and advocacy services available to its members. The offer to host this seminar came from a recent Small Business Seminar hosted in Tauranga to develop ways to assist our small business community members.

The EMA's GM Advocacy, Alan McDonald, will also be available to talk about further legislative changes on the way for business owners.
