​Who’s this programme for?
Advanced: Analyse, Create and Evaluate 

This programme is suitable for
safety supervisors, coordinators or team leaders. You must hold a National Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety - Workplace Safety (Level 3) or have equivalent experience. Candidates will need the full support of their employer, with access to systems and data for assessment work.

What you’ll learn:

This certificate covers all the essential knowledge team leaders, supervisors and frontline managers need to contribute to workplace safety, health and wellbeing. You’ll learn all the requirements, systems and processes involved in implementing an effective Health and Safety plan in the workplace.

Where and when: four two-day modules: 9am – 4pm (plus study day mid-course)

  • Communicate, implement, supervise and monitor job-specific Health and Safety requirements and practices in the workplace
  • Use leadership skills to promote the benefits of good Health and Safety practices, and a proactive Health and Safety culture within the workplace
  • Apply your knowledge of Health and Safety risk analyses and mitigation strategies
  • Understand the impact of work-related ill health and injuries on a specific business operation and the wider industry.

Note: This is not a NZQA approved programme. The EMA is currently preparing a programme approval and accreditation application to gain NZQA approval to deliver the New Zealand Certificate in Workplace Health and Safety Practice (Level 4). In the meantime, learners who achieve the unit standards attached to this course will have this added to their NZ Record of Achievement from NZQA.​​
