Have you been managing performance reviews for a while, but want to create a more effective process? If you manage staff and want to learn best practice for performance appraisals, this course is for you.

What you’ll learn:

During this two-day course you’ll discover techniques to tackle tough conversations, strategies to overcome the issues and solutions to common problems in performance management processes. You’ll be equipped with the tools that cover all aspects of performance management, from induction through to formal appraisal methods.

After, you’ll be able to…

  • Identify the signs and behaviour that indicate a performance improvement plan may be required, versus beginning a disciplinary process
  • Apply the fundamental factors required for effective conversations at performance appraisal time, however challenging the situation
  • Fully integrate performance appraisals, including conducting appraisal interviews, dealing with excuses, active listening and questioning. 

NZQA Unit Standard (optional)
24874 Version  3, Level 3, Credits 4. Demonstrate knowledge of performance management.

Learners can expect to do an additional 26 hours of self-directed learning to complete this unit standard.

Note: This is not an NZQA approved course, however learners that achieve the unit standard attached to this course will have this added to their NZ Record of Achievement from NZQA.
