What you’ll learn:

This advanced level programme provides attendees with a comprehensive overview of employment law in the New Zealand environment, including the confidence to lead conversations during the disciplinary process. 

You’ll be able to create policies for dispute resolution practices and identify whether a performance management or a disciplinary track is needed. You’ll gain the knowledge to create a performance improvement plan, understand the importance of each element in a disciplinary process and how to act in ‘good faith’ at all times.

Where and when: Eight Days, Two Days Per Month: 9am–4pm​

After, you’ll be able to…
  • Identify the essentials from key Acts in employment law to minimise the risk of personal grievance claims
  • Apply procedural fairness at all times of the employment relationship, including – during dispute resolution, the investigation process, suspensions and restructures
  • Identify the obligations, responsibilities and liabilities when being a ‘representative of the employer’
  • Review leave clauses, and develop and implement a leave policy that is compliant with current employment legislation
  • Confidently apply your responses and follow the rules of procedural fairness during a disciplinary process.
