Employers and Manufacturers Association (EMA) Northern - Be Safe. Be Well.

Be Safe. Be Well.

The 3 hour Health and Safety Solution to The 3 hour Health and Safety Engagement workshop.

Accidents happen because of a “she’ll be right” attitude, so this workshop teaches people much about themselves; why they make unsafe decisions and why they often don’t notice things that are right in front of them. Unlike other health and safety training that focuses on policies, procedures, obvious hazards and things not to do, Be Safe, Be Well concentrates on changing people’s behaviour to become more aware, be responsible and take positive health and safety actions in the workplace.

Everyone now needs to participate in taking responsibility to ensure everyone gets home safe and well. This workshop is relevant to everyone but in particular workers or employees without a designated role  and will compliment any in-house health and safety training.

  • Impact of workplace accidents
  • Hazards and risks exist and mistakes happen – some we know about, others we don’t know about
  • Why we make bad decisions that could harm us – our optimistic bias
  • Why we don’t see or anticipate hazards or risks the Kiwi ‘she’ll be right attitude’
  • Why we don’t act on hazards or risks we know about – ‘it’s not my job’ mindset?
  • How to identify hazards and risks and what to do about them

  • Appreciate that to Be Safe and Be Well is a shared responsibility as everyone deserves to go home safe & well, every day!
  • Know how to make a positive difference to the health and safety of yourself, your workmates, your family, and your friends.
  • Think “See it. Own it. Act on it”
  • Mimimise your risk and your mates risk of being injured, harmed or killed at work.
