This is an advanced-level workshop, with several prerequisites to ensure attendees have both the experience and practical knowledge to benefit from the content. After 12 months in a full-time payroll position, attendees must have previously completed the Payroll Foundations L1, Payroll Law L2 and Payroll Calculations L5 courses. At our discretion, learners with extensive payroll experience will also be accepted. If you have any questions please email email@example.com.
This workshop is provided as a virtual classroom and learners will need to be willing to be part of an online classroom environment.
This is so the trainer and learners can interact fully as a group to share and undertake the exercises that will be undertaken as part of the workshop. All learners will be provided with a comprehensive manual full of references, including templates and basic payroll process steps and procedures.
2 days (online conducted through ZOOM).
Runs from 9am – 5pm both days.
Attendees will be sent a timetable for the sessions during the day, including, breaks, etc.
What you’ll learn:
Payroll professionals progressing through their career will experience different payroll and work environments. This can mean practitioners have gaps in their understanding and knowledge of payroll environments they have not worked in. This Level 6 Masterclass workshop is designed to give participants a wide coverage of payroll topics to build on their payroll understanding.
The Masterclass is an assessed course with an hour-long assessment activity on the second day. The workshop is also aligned to the NZPPA Certification framework (levels 2-6) and will prepare participants to undertake the online assessment requirement of certification.
The Payroll Masterclass workshop is based on the NZPPA Practice Guide, with 7 modules delivered over two-days.

Employment Law Part 2: Holidays and Parental Leave
Other types of employee leave

After, you’ll be able to…
Describe a wide range of legislation and how it impacts on payroll.
Locate and use a wide range of references to access up-to-date references on legislative terms.
Explain how legislative terms are used in different payroll environments.
End of workshop assessment:
As part of this workshop participants will complete 60-minute end of course assessment based on the course content. This will be done by accessing the NZPPA eLearning environment after the end of the course. Participants will be provided a logon and after completing will be advised of their results.
End of workshop NZPPA Certificate:
All attendees will receive a NZPPA Certificate of Attendance. If the attendee chooses to have their end of module activities assessed, and successfully meet the criteria, they will receive a “NZPPA Payroll Masterclass Certificate of Competence.”
This workshop in part will help in completing the online assessment requirements for NZPPA Certification to be a recognised payroll professional.
