Hamilton-based AMS provides a
range of driver training courses around the country for individuals and businesses,
eg, for truck licenses, forklift licenses, dangerous goods endorsement, operator
training for cranes such as overhead gantry and truck loader cranes.
It also provides workplace
safety training covering areas such as confined spaces and working at heights.
Aucklanders can pre-book the
driver training safety courses either online on the AMS Group website or at any
of the participating VTNZ stations: in Takanini, Kingsland, Glenfield, Sylvia
Park, New Lynn, Wiri and Pukekohe.
AMS Group’s Managing Director,
Kevin Wall (pictured), says after a five-month trial the initiative is expected
to expand to all VTNZ stations nationwide.

Transport figures show crashes involving trucks, most of the deaths are not
truck occupants but the other road users involved. The truck driver had the
primary responsibility for about a third (34 per cent) of fatal crashes
