Kent graduated from the University of Auckland in 2014. He subsequently joined the EMA’s Adviceline team in the position of Employer Advisor. In this capacity Kent advised EMA members on a wide range of employment and health and safety related matters.

In June 2017, Kent was appointed to the position of Solicitor at EMA Legal. Kent advises and represents clients in relation to the full spectrum of employment related matters, including regulatory compliance, disciplinary and performance matters, business restructuring and redundancies, personal grievances, leave entitlements, employment agreements and company policies.

Kent has particular expertise in the complex area of employee leave entitlements and employer obligations under the Holidays Act 2003 and he is a regular speaker at conferences on this subject as well as other employment-related matters. 

Kent also represents clients in dispute resolution, including attending at mediation and the Employment Relations Authority.​
