Alan McDonald
Policy Director - Advocacy Services. Alan McDonald is the GM Advocacy for the EMA. Alan’s role is to set and guide the policy agenda for the EMA and lobby both central and local government on behalf of the organisation.

Amanda is based in Rotorua. She has comprehensive knowledge and experience across all employment relations matters and is well regarded for her work specialising in bullying and harassment investigations (including sexual harassment).

Bernadette Emerson
Portfolio Manager - Employment Relations, Human Resources Bernadette joined EMA in 2015 and manages the Employment Relations (ER) and Human Resources (HR) training portfolio of public courses covering introductory workshops to advanced level courses.

Bev spent several years as the Employment Counsel for the SA National Prosecuting Authority, and has continued her employment career in New Zealand with her current private law practice in the Waikato/BOP.

Brett O'Riley
Brett O’Riley is the Chief Executive of the EMA, having commenced in that role in January 2019. He is a graduate of Victoria University of Wellington, with post graduate qualifications from MIT (Boston) and Singularity University (San Jose).
