Course One:

Introduction to NZ Privacy Act:

An introduction to one of the most important New Zealand laws. Familiarse yourself with what and why the NZ Privacy Act 2020 is, and your legal requirements around it.

What you’ll learn:

  • Understand the legal requirements for the collection, storage, and use of personal information
  • Apply correct processes and procedures to ensure the safety and security of personal data
  • Ensure the legal rights of your staff and clients are protected when handling personal information
  • Identify methods to protect the personal information gathered from illegal activity or misuse

Course Two:

The NZ Privacy Act 2020 - Information Privacy Principles

Currently there are 12 Information Privacy Principles (IPPs) within the Act and they cover collection, use, disclosure and storage of information. Under the new Act there will be one new IPP and five existing IPPs will change. Be informed by gaining an understanding of all IPP’s with this online module.
