Purpose

Effective boards are essential to create and lead sustainable success in organisations. More and more NZ firms are looking for independent directors to strengthen the expertise in their board room. Based on the research work by Directions - Understanding Governance, a comprehensive and practically relevant qualification seminar for company directors has been created.

During the initial 2½ day block and on a third full day appr. 6 weeks later, practitioners from leading NZ and global firms will present a tool kit for existing and aspiring company directors. During presentations, work shops, group sessions and panel discussions, a broad range of essential skills are taught in an intense and engaging format. This seminar will prepare new directors for their duties, tell owners and shareholders how to create effective boards and boost the existing abilities of sitting directors.

A qualification assessment will test for demonstrable governance abilities and be the basis for the coveted QUALIFIED DIRECTOR award.

Successful completion of the 3½ day seminar entitles participants to the QUALIFIED DIRECTOR award, Level 1.
