Based on both theortical and real-world knowledge, this interactive workshop is designed to give participants the tools to effectively communicate across a wide range of overseas cultures.
Workshop Content
English, the new lingua franca;
There’s more than one kind of English – understanding the language in its various forms, and which to use in international business correspondence;
The basic parts of a letter;
Formal and informal register - which is appropriate, when?
Being concise – accurately and effectively getting your point across in as few words as possible;
Effectively communicating with those who do not have English as their first language;
Double-checking that you are understood;
Setting response time-frames and following up;
Kinds of business communications commonly used.

On leaving this course you will be able to:
Write effective business using the correct register and language level appropriate to the recipient;
Use culturally appropriate language and tone;
Ensure that what you have written is understood by the recipient.
