All manufacturers or organisations considering entering into overseas trade as an Exporter.

What will I learn?

This course overviews and introduces the concepts of the exporting processes requiring consideration, debate and planning for the company wishing to develop an Export Market Entry Strategy.  We will commence from where the decision has been made that we ‘Will enter the market’.  The various checklists associated with this course will highlight what is required during the market entry decision phase to export so possible pitfalls that can await the unwary.  No prior knowledge of exporting is assumed.

  • Revision of strategic market selection and research.
  • Determining the best market entry strategy for your business
  • Preparing for direct marketing
  • How are we going to operate? – (solo, contract manufacture, licensing, franchising, strategic alliance, distributors or agents)
  • Choosing the right ‘Business Partner’.
  • What details are critical? – (pricing, promotional tactics, sales pitch, freight, finance and documentation)
  • How do we protect ourselves in the market?  (intellectual property, branding, position, agreements and contracts)
